STUDENT COUNCIL – THE HEART OF STUDENT LEADERSHIP

The Student Council at ISWK [CAMBRIDGE] stands as a powerful bridge between the student body and the school’s faculty and leadership. We are not just representatives — we are the voice of the learners, ensuring that every idea is valued, every concern is acknowledged, and every opportunity for growth is seized.

Since 2023, our student leaders have embraced this path with conviction, courage, and clarity. The Student Council has become a symbol of resilience, progressive thinking, and fearless collaboration. What sets us apart is our ability to act with spontaneity and precision, delivering proactive solutions that challenge norms and inspire change.

At ISWK [CAMBRIDGE], leadership is not confined to tradition — it evolves with purpose. And the Student Council continues to lead that evolution with vision, voice, and action.

Achievements of the Student Council
In a remarkable blend of tradition and innovation, this generation of leaders has redefined student involvement with a modern twist. They revived past traditions while making them their own—introducing fresh ideas for school uniforms, strengthening teacher-student engagement, and mentoring younger learners in a way that felt personal and meaningful. Their Teachers’ Day celebrations were more than just a tribute; they actively assisted in event planning, ensuring a memorable experience for both students and faculty. The charity fest, a first-of-its-kind initiative, united the entire school community, raising an impressive fund to support a noble cause. Beyond these milestones, they showed tireless dedication, staying after hours to assist teachers and staff, proving that true leadership is about action, commitment, and teamwork.

As it is rightly said by Ralph Waldo Emerson "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE (MUN)

A Historic Debut: The First Model United Nations Conference (MUN), 2024

The 18th and 19th of October 2024 marked a monumental milestone for Indian School Wadi Kabir – Cambridge, as it hosted its first-ever Model United Nations Conference. The event brought together nearly 200 participants from 13 schools across Oman and beyond, establishing a strong foundation for a long-standing tradition of diplomacy, leadership, and global engagement.

A Grand Opening and a Fitting Close

The conference was formally inaugurated by His Excellency, the Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, during a dignified and inspiring opening ceremony. His presence set the tone for an event that would go on to encourage intellectual rigor, cultural exchange, and collaborative discourse. The closing ceremony, equally grand, was graced by His Excellency, the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, whose words served as a powerful reminder of the importance of international dialogue and youth participation in global affairs.

Vision, Leadership, and Teamwork

The success of the inaugural ISWK-Cambridge MUN was the result of months of planning, dedication, and teamwork. The MUN Cooridnator, Mr. Nakul Raibahdur, alsong with his team of
Humanities department and MUN Director General, Mr. Samarth Pujari, and MUN Secretary General, Mr. Siddharth Sowmya Shankar, the event seamlessly blended professionalism with youthful energy. Their unwavering commitment—along with the invaluable support of student volunteers, enthusiastic delegates, and dedicated teachers—ensured that every committee ran smoothly and each participant had a platform to voice their ideas and debate global issues.

As the MUN Coordinator, I had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the growth, confidence, and engagement that the conference fostered in our learners. Delegates immersed themselves in the art of diplomacy, mastered the nuances of parliamentary procedure, and most importantly, developed a greater awareness of global challenges and their role in shaping solutions.

A Celebration of Effort and Excellence

True to its spirit, the conference concluded not just with awards and applause but with an unforgettable UNWIND dance party—a well-deserved celebration of the hard work and passion each delegate had poured into their performance. It was a fitting finale to a conference that had brought together diverse minds in a shared pursuit of excellence, understanding, and leadership.

A New Legacy Begins

This inaugural MUN marks the beginning of a promising journey for Indian School Wadi Kabir – Cambridge. Beyond the speeches and resolutions, it showcased the school’s commitment to nurturing global citizens who are not only academically accomplished but also socially conscious and ready to lead.

As we look forward to future editions, we remain inspired by the success of this first step—a conference that wasn’t just an event, but the birth of a new tradition. A tradition where our learners, through dialogue and diplomacy, continue to leave a mark on the world stage.

WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP

Indian School Wadi Kabir [CAMBRIDGE] Learners: A Journey of Excellence at the World Scholar’s Cup

The World Scholar’s Cup, founded by Daniel Berdichevsky in 2007, is not just an academic competition—it’s a global phenomenon, officially endorsed by Yale University and held in over 70 countries.

Our learners at ISWK [CAMBRIDGE] have wholeheartedly embraced the values and spirit of the World Scholar’s Cup, pushing the limits of academic excellence, leadership, and collaboration.

A Journey of Growth and Achievement

In 2023, our learners set a remarkable precedent as they traveled to Bangkok for the global round. Immersing themselves in this intellectually stimulating environment, they had the opportunity to mingle with some of the brightest minds from across the globe. Their enthusiasm and achievements created a buzz back home at school, inspiring younger learners to dream big and aim high.

The Global Round in South Korea in 2024 marked another significant chapter in our journey. The students represented Wadi Kabir with confidence and poise, facing the competition in their own unique manner. The culminating TOC at Yale University in November was the perfect conclusion to this journey, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our learners.

A Legacy of Excellence

The World Scholar’s Cup has become a celebrated tradition at Wadi Kabir, with learners excited to carry forward the legacy of academic excellence, teamwork, and leadership.

Looking Forward

As we look forward to the upcoming rounds, we are thrilled to see an even larger cohort of learners preparing to take this legacy forward. With their dedication, passion, and determination, these students are poised to continue the remarkable journey of our learners at the World Scholar’s Cup. Our school continues to foster an environment where students not only excel academically but also develop a sense of global awareness and leadership that will serve them well in the future. Our  learners have proven time and time again that they are more than capable of representing the future of education on the world stage.

Art

The Art Department at ISWK Cambridge is dedicated to nurturing creativity, visual literacy, and aesthetic sensitivity among learners. We firmly believe that art serves as both a form of expression and a means of reflection. Our program encourages students to explore various media and techniques, fostering a deeper comprehension of the world around them.

Learners embark on a structured journey through drawing and painting techniques, acquiring proficiency in line, form, texture, and color. This journey allows them to translate their observations and imagination into refined visual compositions.

The department also introduces students to the intricate art of paper folding. Simple sheets transform into complex creations, requiring a blend of geometry, precision, and patience. This exercise exemplifies the harmonious balance between discipline and creativity.

Our Pottery Club offers a tactile and meditative experience. Learners shape clay into expressive forms, gaining insights into traditional craftsmanship and the joy of creating with their hands.

Through this comprehensive approach, the Art Department aims to cultivate not only technical skills but also a lasting appreciation for artistic inquiry, innovation, and cultural understanding.

Dance

The Dance Department at ISWK Cambridge is dedicated to cultivating creativity, discipline, and cultural appreciation through the art of dance. We offer learners the opportunity to develop essential skills such as coordination, teamwork, and self-expression while exploring diverse dance forms from around the world. Our curriculum blends traditional and contemporary styles, celebrating the rich heritage of various international cultures.
Whether students are new to dance or experienced performers, each learner is encouraged to embrace new challenges, master innovative movements, and appreciate the universal language of rhythm and movement. Through guided practice and creative exploration, we aim to nurture confidence, artistry, and a lifelong passion for dance.
