GANDHI JAYANTHI






             Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in India as a National festival on 2nd October, every
             year.  This  day  is  celebrated  to  remember  the  birth  of  Mohandas  Karamchand

             Gandhi. Born on the 2nd of October 1869, was entitled the “Father of the Nation”
             and  was  popularly  called  as  “Bapu”  by  children.  He  was  a  great  follower  of  peace
             (Satya)  and  non-violence  (Ahimsa).  He  led  the  freedom  struggle  for  India  and  is

             highly appreciated for his simplicity and principles.
             Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated in Kindergarten at ISWKi and Learners of K1 and
             K2 celebrated Gandhi Jayanti at the Learning Centre.

             The Activities that were conducted in the school are as follows:


             Play dough Modeling

             Learners worked on fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination while molding the
             play dough into a beautiful piece of art on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi.
             Learners depicted the objects related to Mahatma Gandhi and used their tiny hands

             to mold the play dough. K1 Learners brushed their speaking talents and confidently
             spoke about their clay models in the virtual platform through google meet. Learners

             also presented their work by sharing it with their classmates.


             Gandhi Jayanti - Masterpiece Activity
             Learners of K2 worked in enhancing their

             bilateral  coordination,  sequencing,  fine-
             motor  skills,  eye-hand  coordination,  and
             pincer grip through creative activity at the

             Learning  Centre.  Learners  celebrated
             Gandhi Jayanti by using the technique of
             paper  crumpling  to  form  a  beautiful

             masterpiece. This masterpiece activity as
             a result of all sections of K2 was displayed
             at the entrance of the school for parents

             to witness the hard work of their wards.
             Learners enjoyed crumpling the paper and
             pasting  on  the  portrait  of  Mahatma

             Gandhi  drawn  by  the  school’s  art
             educator  Mr.  Suresh  Bandoria.  A  video

             was  showcased  in  the  class  to  enlighten
             the learners about Gandhi Jayanti.
