MESSY MUD DAY

The Mud day is a day for children to connect directly with the mother earth. They
feel the warmth of mother earth by lying, rolling around and playing in the mud

without any barriers.

Playing in the mud inspires children to feel a connection to nature and develop an

appreciation for the environment. Many children today have limited opportunities
to play outdoors and it is difficult to care about the environment if you have not had

the chance to spend time with nature, so we the Educators of ISWKi planned a fun
filled activity “Messy Mud Day” which was conducted on 11th November 2021.

Learners were asked to get Daddy’s old t- shirt, old tooth brush, comb, Q-tip,
cotton, sponge.

Leaners used different materials to explore the texture of mud, they also used their
hands and fingers to feel closer to Mother nature. Forty minutes was allotted to

each class so that each learner could get ample time to explore this venue. Learners
enjoyed this experience thoroughly and most of them asked their educators to

repeat this activity again.
