Inter House English Activities

Poem Recitation Competition

Poetry is the language of imagination, feelings, emotional self-expression, and high art.
We also believe that understanding poems make a child-sensitive and writing them makes

the child creative. To spread the fragrance of poetry among children, we at ISWKi organized
Inter-house online House Poem Recitation competition on 8/2/2022 04/12/18. Our young

poem reciters got the opportunity to exhibit their recitation skills with a lot of zeal,
enthusiasm and they amazed everyone with their captivating presentations. The

participants came up with the poems of famous poets and a few also created their own
poems on the topics of ‘India at 75’ for Grade 3-5 (Group B). The recital excelled in rhythm,

mood, diction, and expressions. The participants were adjudged on various parameters like
presentation skills, voice modulation, time management, and diction. Every single student
who recited the poem had something different to share and present. The judges had a tough

time deciding on the winner.

Elocution Competition

Speech is power, Speech is to persuade to convert, to compel.
To empower the learners with good oratory skills an inter house English Elocution was held

in ISWKi on 8th of February, 2022. The competition was organized for group C ( grade 5 &
6) during the regular House Activity session. The event was judged by Ms. Sumita Dewan

and Ms. Raksha Solanki. The participants were given the themes well in advance to prepare
the topics. The competition culminated with a few words of encouragement by the judges
and Principal.
