STEAM Education At ISWK [Cambridge]

STEAM education equips learners with both hard and soft skills essential for the 21st century. While engaging with STEM subjects, learners also develop critical life skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and evaluating evidence. Through the scientific process, they experience the excitement of exploration and discovery. As naturally curious individuals, children are encouraged through STEAM to channel this curiosity into building knowledge and confidence, ultimately shaping them into informed citizens capable of making positive change.

Introduced by Late Mr. Nambi Rajesh, our IT Manager, previously, this program was conducted under the Robotics Club.

We are pleased to share that at ISWK Cambridge, under the guidance of our Vice Principal, Ms. Sowmya has now formally integrated STEAM as part of the academic curriculum starting from the Academic Year 2025–26. This is indeed a proud moment for us, as it enables structured and consistent learning for all our students.

Indian School Wadi Kabir [Cambridge] proudly hosted STEAMposium 2025, an Inter-School STEAM Symposium, on November 6, 2025, themed “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.” The event brought together young innovators from seven leading schools across Oman to showcase projects blending science, technology, art, and ethics. With expert judges from academia and industry, creative exhibits, and captivating performances—including the Upcycle Orchestra—the symposium celebrated innovation, collaboration, and ethical awareness, reaffirming ISWK [Cambridge]’s commitment to nurturing future-ready learners.

STEAM Week showcased innovation across the school and marked the culmination of learning from regular STEAM lessons. Grades 1 & 2 enjoyed exciting Science Explorations. Grades 3 & 4 explored their story telling skills along with Shadow Puppet show. The STEAMposium, themed on AI and human agency in education, hosted seven schools presenting inventive projects blending technology, creativity, and ethical thinking where learners of Grades 7 & 8 were the participants.
