Primary school at ISWK [Cambridge] Grades 1 to 5 is where your child’s learning journey begins. It is a place where we build on children’s natural curiosity about the world around them, and support them in gradually taking a greater responsibility and ownership for their Own learning.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH

ISWK’S Primary programme adopts a holistic view of child development where the child is seen as a whole person with a desire to learn and to be active participant in the learning process that stimulate imagination, creativity and self-discovery in our youngest learners (aged 5 to 11). The curriculum is fully integrated, balanced, with an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning that capitalizes on children’s natural curiosity and desire to explore, ask questions and find the answers.

The cognitive, social, cultural, physical and emotional dimensions are incorporated throughout the curriculum.

The Internationally Benchmarked Curriculum

Reflecting our international context, our curriculum draws from the best curriculam globally, and is delivered within the Cambridge framework. Each unit of study is designed and planned together in such a way that it focus on issues relevant to young children and will last several weeks to allow in-depth exploration and authentic learning. Warm and nurturing learning environments support our inquiry and play-based approach, ensuring our children develop the knowledge and skills needed for their future academic success.

Such environment inspires children to construct knowledge and meaning collaboratively, reflect on different ways of doing things, make connections, and acknowledge different points of view while learning to analyze the cause and effect of occurrences and actions.

Our Assessment

Our approach to the education of young children recognize that they are inquirers who explore and are engaged through a variety of appropriate instructional experiences in order to make sense of the world around them and become life-long learners. We use Cambridge Primary testing structure which includes internationally benchmarked tests to assess learner performance and report progress to learners and parents.
