Little Chef

In the words of Guy Fieri, "cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. Its about harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity". And we at the little chef’s club stand strong with this objective. The club aims at equipping learners with basic culinary skill through a series of experimenting with various NO FIRE recipes.

Learners will learn and practice the art of food preparation and presentation. They’ll be acquainted with nutritional value of all the ingredients they use hence imbibing in them the life skill of eating healthy.

Learners will be preparing various cuisines which will enable them understand world cultures, customs and flavours.

Knowing how to prepare basic no fire recipes will make learners independent as they grow up as they would not always be surrounded by the people who’ll cook for them.

POTTERY

Pottery Club in Indian School Wadi Kabir Cambridge International is a hub where learners can work side-by-side in a friendly environment that encourages and inspires artistic growth. We believe everyone has an artist inside them, looking to express oneself and we want to help them find their artistic voice. We as a club are committed towards our learners. While we’re dedicated to producing our own art, we’re also devoted to bringing the artist out in them. We strive to in-still creativity and teach form and function to all of them seeking a fun, relaxing, and well rounded artistic experience. Pottery has been around for thousands of years and is a therapeutic art form that provides health benefits not only for the mind, but the body as well. It has varied benefits like:

  • Reduces Stress
  • A Mood Enhancer
  • Helps with Focusing
  • Physical Benefits
  • Sense of Accomplishment
  • A Form of Self Expression

It has also been incorporated in our co-scholastic activities as we believe and have taken pledge to support the 'Sustainable development goals'. The one which is congruent with our club is to 'Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns'. Worldwide material consumption has expanded rapidly, as has material footprint per capita, seriously Jeopardising the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 12. Urgent action is needed to ensure that current material needs do not lead to the over-extraction of resources or to the degradation of environmental resources, and should include policies that improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and mainstream sustainability practices across all sectors of the economy. Hence pottery as an activity is one of an integral part of our clubs

LIFE SKILL

LIFE SKILL CLUB aims at providing basic life skill training to learners which will help them to become responsible and successful in life.

These skills are the skills we can take wherever we go in life no matter what we do.

As a school we give importance to learners developing the skills they need to succeed in life. Along with the subject based curriculum, each group has a life skill curriculum which gives them the opportunity to develop and support the learning of these valuable skills. Whether it be learning to tie shoe laces, use of scissors, folding clothes, use a knife and fork, doing up a tie, learning to sew on a button, making a cup of tea, administering first aid, etc. Learners will be given the opportunity to learn, practice and develop these basic life skills. Also, social, personal and emotional skills will be imbibed in learners which will help to build a strong foundation. It is said if one gets better at life skills, everyone benefits.
