A Model United Nations (MUN) is a scaled-down replica of the United Nations
Organization. A little version of a much bigger institution. The goal of a
Model United Nations is not only to join together to solve global concerns, but
also to instill diverse skills such as public speaking , diplomacy and to become
aware and empathetic of the difficulties humankind faces today.
ISWK Cambridge International School’s objective is to bestow a wonderful
window of opportunity in order to provide exposure right across Grades 3 to 9
under our beloved Principal Mr. Sanjay Tiwari’s guidance. It is in our interest
to empower his vision for our student delegates. An event like this provides
multiple benefits for each and every student taking part. Our end
expectations are to provide a voice to each and every student, to mould them
into future leaders.
Special dignitaries were invited to grace the occasion. For MUN Seniors, we
welcomed Mr. Peter Nessim as our Chief Guest during the morning session,
Ms. Sneha Ved as the Guest of Honour, Ms. Arshiya Sayed as our Special
Guest. For the afternoon session we invited Dr. Trishna Gulani as a Special
Guest and Mr. Amit Yadav as our Chief Guest.
For MUN Juniors, Mr. Abdul Samad Al Balushi graced the session as our Chief
Guest during the first session and Ms. Aarathi Gopal Vappala & Ms. Gayathri
Prasanna were our Guests of Honour during the second session.
Learners were chosen as delegates to represent 64 countries ranging
alphabetically from Albania to Zambia to participate in the MUN conference ,
with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Bureau members played a major role in
training, mentoring and guiding the delegates throughout the session,
preparing them for the first ever MUN.
‘Saving lives, protecting human rights, and sharing the global responsibility
for refugees and migrants’ was the topic for discussion at the conference.
