About school

The Indian School Wadi Kabir was formally founded in 1941 as a Gujarati Medium School for the children of the members of the business community.

It began to take its present shape in 1987 as Indian School Muttrah, with English as a medium of instruction and in September 1993 was renamed Indian School Wadi Kabir when it moved into the new premises in wadi Kabir, Muscat.

    We had elected to join our son in ISWKi when his previous school had to be shut down mid-academic year consequent to a GoI decision to abruptly terminate the CBSEi curriculum which he was pursuing until then. Though we had a little apprehension in the beginning, considering the lack of experience of the ISWK school management in running an international school with IGCSE Cambridge curriculum, our first interaction with the Vice Principal and the specially recruited teachers cleared us of any misgivings on the academic future of our son
