MENTAL HEALTH WEEK 2021
World Mental Health Day, celebrated every year on October 10th, is aimed at
raising awareness and spreading education about mental health issues across
the globe. Mental health has come to focus in pandemic times like never
before as people of all age groups and occupations bear the brunt of the 'new
normal'. This day provides an opportunity to talk about mental health in
general, how to break the stigma around it, and the importance of speaking out
when struggling with a mental health issue.
To celebrate this occasion Team A. B. L. E hosted a number of events to raise
awareness about the issue and to discuss key topics related to mental health
from October 10th to 14th, 2021.
Team ABLE decided to kick start the Mental Health Week celebration in
school by organizing a very special session on Teacher's Mental Well-Being
amidst the COVID-19 challenges by Dr. Tony Sam George. Dr. Tony Sam
George is a practicing psychotherapist and is involved in training, research,
and clinical practice. He is the Dean of Social Sciences, Head of the Psychology
department, and supports the Centre for Research at Christ University,
Bangalore India.
