The ABLE department invited two leaders of the education industry in
Oman to host and deliver a ‘Career Guidance Webinar’ for the students
of ISWKi.
The speakers included Mrs. Massrat Shaikh - a renowned
educational/career counselor and Ms. Kate Clark, the managing
director of Al Ahlam Education and Training services. Having
personally attended the webinar, I can vouch that coupling the content
with colorful and interactive infographics really captivated me. The
speakers not only passed on valuable knowledge from years of
training and experience but they encouraged students to select career
options based on interest, skill and aptitude rather than basing it on
popularity, pay and ‘reputability’.
As an activity captain, it is important to maintain a balance between
activities and academics. Having sessions like these help maintain that
balance by engaging students to actively paint their own future.

“Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by rules, it
teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you
about life.”
A few weeks back, our school, ISWKi, had organised morning coaching,
despite the current pandemic to make the learners of the school fit
and healthy after staying at home for almost a year. They participated
in sports like- football, cricket, basketball and table tennis. These
sports helped the learners to get energised and warmed up for the rest
of the day at school. Yoga was introduced to help young learners to
refresh their minds and to study better. Additionally, this would help
learners to relax and calm down before they begin with their tests.
Activities like these have helped learners to engage and have fun,
while simultaneously revising and studying for their assessments.
