Good old days - The Head Girl's Reminiscences
HARSHITA ANAND
First days for me are always amazing. After being at home for about a
year, learning through online means, glued to the screens, the fresh
world outside was really a very pleasant change. I did visit the school to
give my board examinations, which took place over the span of one
month, but that experience is incomparable to the one I had on 24th
January, 2021. The teachers’ smiling and joyful faces welcoming you, the
sounds of laughter echoing within the hallways, all were missed during
that one year. After I took my first step into the school premises in 2021, I
realized how much I loved this. My day started off with a greeting from
our new Principal, Mr. Sanjay Tiwari.
It was very nice meeting him, and we exchanged a few words, one of his
firsts being "Hello! I'm your new classmate!", to which I said, "I'm looking
forward to studying with you!".
"Hello! I'm your
new classmate!"
I got to meet my classmates after a month-long break, and I could clearly
tell, most have changed, both mentally and physically. We gave each
other hugs from far, abiding by the social distancing laws. Next was our
assembly, which I genuinely looked forward to. I breathed in the fresh air
over the vast green field I missed, and greeted all teachers with a big
smile, which was unfortunately not visible, because of the mandatory
masks. I got to see the rest of my schoolmates, both new and old.
During the assembly, we had dance and yoga sessions, in which I
enthusiastically participated. I also showed off my moves in front of the
whole school.
