VIRTUAL ELECTIONS

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and

             shows the way”

Student councils are directly elected by the student population and are

formed by the winning cabinet. A structure is maintained with positions
like class representative, prefects, vice captains, house captains, sports

captain, activity captain, deputy head boy, head girl, main head boy
/head girl. The student council election is a lengthy procedure of
elections within the framework of a constitution of bylaws to provide a

means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and
activities, give opportunities to students to taste leadership roles and

encourage students to deliver speeches. For senior positions a panel
interview was conducted wherein the students could show off their

special accomplishments, answer open-ended questions. The students
were given the right to choose their representatives through virtual votes

creating a historical trend among the voters. Students vote also uses the
election as a teachable moment and enables teachers to bring
             democracy alive in the classroom.

Students were given the opportunity to campaign to influence the

decision-making progress within a specific group. The students explained
their views and plans to voters to help figure out what their goals and

objectives were. At ISWKi, we create leaders for tomorrow.

These leaders have the qualities of integrity, ability to delegate,

communication, self-awareness, gratitude, learning, agility, influence and
             empathy.
